Cutting Calorie Tricks:)

If you have to go out and eat with family or friends, order a low cal appetizer and say you got full on that! Just drink a lot of water too and you really will.

Always keep an exercise journal. It helps motivates you to cut back on calories so if you hate working out you have less to burn off.

"Walk and talk"- If you talk on the phone a lot or have to for work, keep walking around when you are on the phone, you burn more calories than just sitting there taking the call.

Cut back on the salad dressing. If you just dip your fork in the dressing then get a bite of the salad you will cut back sometimes a LOT of calories.

Along the lines of the last one, order a salad at restaurants and do the same little maneuver and you will get full and cut back more calories.

Watch how much coffee you have, have too much and you have consumed too many calories.

Go nuts! So to speak, anyway lol. Eating 1/4 cup nuts a day (healthy ones) can help keep weight off in the long run.

Don't just do nothing. Keep moving all the time!

Make sure you sleep well, even if that means a little more than usual. Sleeping less helps keep your metabolism up and you can't eat when you sleep, so less calories added to your diet!

Cilantro Chicken Salad

Ingredients:
7 oz cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
2 tbsp light mayonnaise
1 small scallion, chopped
2 tsp lime juice
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
salt and pepper

pinch of cumin

Add a little chicken broth if chicken seams too dry, 1 tbsp at a time. To Poach: Cover chicken breast in broth in a small pot, add water if it doesn’t
cover the chicken. Add salt and pepper, a piece of celery and it’s leaves (you could add herbs like parsley, garlic, onion, or whatever you want)
and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cover tight and let it sit for 15-20 minutes or until thickest part of
the breast registers 160 degrees. Chicken will be cooked through. Let it cool and cut into small cubes.

Today's adventure!

It was actually pretty chilly last night!:) Yay! I can't wait for winter! Waking up absolutely freezing though? Not as fun lol. A plus to the cold though, more calories burned to keep your body warm! That's always good:)

Anyway, after I got up and got around I had one of my totally-not-famous-but-should-be breakfast smoothies:)

4 ounces UNsweetened frozen berries
2 ounces low-fat yogurt
1 and 1/2 cups green tea (zero calories)

Right around 75 calories.

(I saw a recipe like this once and it added Truvia sweetener and a whole banana, I haven't tried it personally but I know that can add up to 100 calories MORE depending on the size.)

For lunch I made vegetable soup, which I actually LOVE. It's Progresso (Light), and only 120 calories for the entire can.
(I didn't eat all of it. My mom ended up sharing with me so I calculated 90 calories on my part.)

***If you end up sharing food with someone and aren't sure just how many calories you consumed, add a little bit more than you think you ate Just to be safe! I would rather add a few too many then not enough. Because when you work out you will think you burned off all the calories you ate but maybe you really didn't:/

After Lunch, I didn't eat anything until about 4 PM.
No snacks or anything.

For dinner, I experimented with zucchini, and it actually turned out good! It's like a pizza but instead of using crust you use the zucchini.

4 BIG slices of zucchini
sprayed with Pam spray olive oil on both sides. Very lightly!
Broil on high for 2 minutes on each side
Season one side with a little bit of salt and pepper
pizza sauce jar (NO I did not use the whole thing haha)
2 teaspoons of that pizza sauce on each slice
1/4 cup SKIM mozzarella spread out on all 4 slices.
Broil again on high for 1 to 2 minutes.

ALL FOUR rounds together are only 140 calories!!

I almost burned one of mine so be careful not to burn them! Haha.

ALL calories added up
breakfast- 75 calories
lunch- 90 calories
dinner- 140 calories
TOTAL- 305 calories:)

I ran this evening a little less than usual but still burned right around 800 calories! Plus I am going to the gym for the stair climber in a few minutes:)

Usually I have 4 or 5 five small meals throughout the day, but today I made it 3 small meals. I just woke up in an Amazing and not hungry mood today:)

Things I Do NOT recommend! (1)

I will be posting a new list every week or so!

1. Laxatives, they really don't work all that great. However, natural laxatives like grapes and prunes (if you can eat them) work pretty well.Write down the calories of each though
2. Water, hot water that is. Some people think it helps But you burn less calories with hot water because your body has to burn calories by warming up the cold water.
3. Sleeping only 6 or 7 hours. That's crazy, the more I sleep the less I eat or am tempted to eat. So I say sleep as much as you can. Take a nap even:) Everyone loves a good nap! Lol.
4. Adding spices to everything. I agree that spicy foods burn more calories but if you add spices to EVERYTHING you will get tired of it and eventually stop using the spices altogether.
5. Eating on a dark plate. It just makes your food look a little different. Just eat on smaller plates that way it Tricks the brain into thinking there is more food than there really is.
6. Eating sweets at breakfast time. I don't recommend sweets at all. Sugar free is the way to go if you must though.
7. Drinking vinegar. Uh, gross?! It does NOT suck the fat out of things, it just sits in your stomach and makes you sick for hours.
8. Just go vegan. No no no. I recommend sugar free jello as a binge food and vegans don't eat it. You are limited to even less foods (which isn't too bad) But you will not be healthy. Your goal should be to be thin and healthy. It keeps the family and doctors quiet if you go regularly.
9. Getting something around your mouth pierced. Nope, you will just feel held back by a piece of metal. I got my cheeks pierced once (yeah I know... haha) But I ended up biting down on the inside balls everytime I would speak. That was just uncomfortable.

Mango Raspberry Lime Popsicle

I have actually been able to make this myself and they are really good.

Ingredients
Get two ripe Mangoes, peel them and cut into pieces
1 cup Raspberries
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 lime, juice it

Use a high speed blender (preferably, but you can also use a food processor). Blend all ingredients until all fruit is integrated. Pour mixture into popsicle molds and freeze for 5 hours or just overnight. (Overnight recommended) When you are ready to enjoy one let it sit out for a few moments before eating.
